Our Scope.
Our scope for this technically challenging project included early mobilisation, demolition, and site clearing, followed by bulk excavation of approximately 240,000 tonnes of clay, shale, and sandstone to a depth of 14 metres from surface. Moits also assisted with the installation of the largest hydraulic braces used in NSW, coordinated all piling, anchoring, and shotcrete works on behalf of the client, and completed both bulk and detailed excavation of around 120,000m³. The works were undertaken on the corner of Church Street and the Great Western Highway, requiring careful coordination with surrounding properties and Transport for NSW assets.
Challenges & Our Approach.
The project presented several challenges, including bulk excavation within a tight program and complex interfaces with multiple trades and neighbouring properties.
The installation of the largest hydraulic props in NSW to support the Great Western Highway boundary required precise planning and execution.
Moits addressed these challenges through meticulous scheduling, close coordination with stakeholders, and robust environmental and community management strategies.
Despite the technical complexity and high-volume excavation demands, the project was delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with client expectations.
