Challenges & Our Approach.
All works within the Stage 2 precinct were completed within a live hospital environment. Moits’ demolition expertise allowed us to maintain progress whilst minimising noise, dust and general disruption to the hospital.
Moits were required to work closely with structural engineers, providing staging and demolition methodology to safely deconstruct the existing structures.
This included safe removal of 12-metre, 3-tonne precast panels utilising custom-designed lifting procedures and mobile cranes.
Moits worked closely with Health Infrastructure and the project management team to ensure all stakeholders were fully informed of planned works and progress, with strong relationships being key factors for success.
Over a 9-month period, within a 17,000 sqm site, Moits successfully demolished and removed all materials and maintained a 95% recycle rate utilising our own Rock & Dirt recycling facility.
