Challenges & Our Approach.
As part of the demolition and façade retention works, Moits navigated a series of complex challenges requiring tailored solutions.
A key priority was preserving the heritage-listed façades along Darlinghurst Road.
With limited as-built documentation and ageing structures, the project demanded meticulous planning, staging, and robust change management to address unexpected conditions during deconstruction.
In addition to façade preservation, we managed risks associated with spatial constraints, underground utilities, hazardous materials, and potential soil contamination.
To meet these challenges, we combined our in-house expertise with input from specialist consultants, developing a Remediation Action Plan, Hazardous Material Assessment, and Demolition Traffic Management Plan.
Working in close collaboration with our steel subcontractor, Metal Corp, we designed and implemented a detailed methodology for the installation of the steel retention system. This ensured the façades were safely secured while enabling the successful delivery of a highly complex inner-city demolition project.
